Planetarium field trip

Monti's class went to the local community college's planetarium. Monti was pretty disappointed to find out it was simply a domed classroom. It was not like theĀ planetariumĀ in Chicago. We did, however, enjoy the presentation given to us. In the end we ended up with more questions about space than answers. At home we brought out the telescope to look at some planets but our Seattle skies would not cooperate. Instead of looking for celestial objects we have been viewing the neighborhood cats and movie listings at the downtown theater with our telescope. I have unintentionally distracted my child from her astronomy aspirations and have created a young "peeping Tom" instead.
